World Kindness Day aims to promote kindness, goodwill, and a positive outlook towards fellow human beings. The overall objective of this day is to foster a sense of global unity and encourage people to practice empathy and compassion in their daily lives. It seeks to inspire individuals, communities, and organizations to spread kindness and contribute to a more caring and harmonious world.
Established in 1998 by the World Kindness Movement, a coalition of kindness NGOs, World Kindness Day has grown to be celebrated in over 28 countries. Americans across the country recognize the importance of kindness and seek to make a difference in the lives of others by performing acts of kindness, both large and small. By participating in this international event, individuals in the United States have the opportunity to join others around the world in fostering kindness and working towards a brighter, more compassionate future.
Citizens are encouraged to take part in various events and activities that promote kindness, such as volunteering at local charities, helping neighbors, or simply being kind to strangers. People can also share their experiences and stories of kindness through social media using the hashtag #WorldKindnessDay, inspiring others to join the movement. World Kindness Day is observed on November 13th each year.
